The final versions of Technical Notes TN44 and TN45 have been published. This replaces version 1.02 for each document.

The Pavement Condition Management Group convened to discuss the progress of the PCIS Support Contract, actions following the completion of the Review of UKPMS Core Functionality, and West Midlands SCANNER data.

A new version of the SCANNER Specification volumes have been published, superseding those published in 2007.

Patch A for Rules and Paramaters RP9.01, and relevant specification document, is available to download with login access. Please contact us if you require access to these documents.

An updated version of Technical Note 3 (HMDIF File Structures and Content) has been released incorporating the new Footway Network Survey (developed by the Footways and Cycle tracks Management Group).

A Provisional Technical Note 46 (TN46) has been released. This provides guidance for UKPMS Developers to allow them to produce various reports for 2009/10 for financial information to support asset management as requested by the Highways Asset Management Financial Information Group (HAMFIG). A corresponding Commentary document has also been released comprising additional background explanation for the changes introduced.

The package for the 2009 Annual Health Check of accredited UKPMS systems is now available for UKPMS developers. The Health Check is intended to provide ongoing routine assurance that UKPMS systems continue to meet UKPMS requirements including the current rule set and national reporting.

The Annual Health Check is only carried out on fully accredited UKPMS systems and supplements rather than replaces the UKPMS Comparability Tests. Passing the Comparability Tests continues to be a requirement for any new systems that wish to become UKPMS Accredited.

• Work carried out through the PCIS Support Contract 
• Current activities of the UK Roads Board and sub-groups
• Road condition reporting
• Measuring and reporting the condition of unclassified roads
• The new Footway Network Survey
• Putting research findings into practice

The PCIS website structure has been developed and content is now being written.
